Bite-Sized Deliveries for the Sims 4 and 11/30 patch update

It’s the season of giving for the Sims 4 and, as of late, I have been incredibly impressed with the updates that have come to the base game.

Base Game Updates: Delivery Express

We finally got the Through the Looking Glass Window that was teased in the Industrial Loft kit cover art. Which, I have been using in every single one of my builds this week.

This evening I logged on to see a notification from the Delivery Express for a brand new, feminine hairstyle. The game required a restart for the hairstyle to appear in CAS.

My only complaint — I had to Google what the new delivery was. As my game restarted I had no clue what EA had added to the game. A couch? A wacky elf costume for the holidays? A new paint swatch? From my quick Google search, I was happy to see a new item added to CAS! EA, if you are reading this, please consider adding a description to the Delivery Express regarding what the new item(s) will be.

Don’t get me wrong, I love surprises and so far I rate the concept of the Delivery Express a 9/10. I just want to know what or where I should be looking for.

Story Progression

FINALLY.

Story Progression has finally made its arrival to the Sims 4 in the method of Neighborhood Stories.

This week I have been playing in my Schumacher household and I have been actively communicating with my neighbors more than usual to get a good idea of how the story progression works.

To help gauge my review, I applied the Neighborhood Confidante aspiration to Bria Schumacker. This aspiration encourages your sim to become actively part of their neighbors’ lives.

For example: as a Neighborhood Confidante, you are encouraged to build up your sim’s charisma skill to a level 7 and influence your neighbors' lives twenty times.

So, how do you go about influencing the sims around you? From what I can tell, this occurs through a phone call. For example, Bria received a call from a neighbor asking if they should get to know another neighbor better. Upon answering the call, Bria was given a couple of options. Such as, “Yes, totally!” Or, “Mmm… better not.”

I encouraged this neighbor to seek out the new friendship, a few days later this neighbor called thanking Bria for encouraging her to make the decision.

Overall, I am REALLY looking forward to experiencing these Neighborhood Stories. Though, from what I can tell so far, the story progression is not extremely involved in the gameplay. Perhaps it’s how I’m playing. Perhaps EA is testing the waters with this concept.

In conclusion, I am happy to see that EA is working on updating the base game instead of introducing other expansion packs that the gameplay community has not asked for….. Journey to Batuu anyone?

What do you think of the 11/30 patch update? Thanks for reading and I look forward to doing more patch reviews in the future! Happy Siming!
